Pursuing Peace

Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza has been going on for over nine months, with no end in sight. Many of us have been asking: “Must the sword devour forever?” (Samuel II 2:26). Where are the voices of peace? Together with Rabbi Aaron, explore a variety of texts on the core value of pursuing peace in Jewish tradition and what that might mean in practice as it relates to a shared future for Israelis and Palestinians. 

Ballpark Shabbat

Experience a musical and energetic service with Rabbi Aaron and our Shabbat musicians located at an event space inside Nationals Park. Afterwards, sit with other Sixth & I’ers to watch as the Washington Nationals take on the Milwaukee Brewers.

Legend of Destruction Screening

Timed with Tisha B’Av, a profound day of mourning in the Jewish calendar, experience a screening of the award-winning film Legend of Destruction, an animated drama voiced by Oscar Isaac, Elliot Gould, and others, chronicling the event that changed the destiny of the Jewish people: the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE.
