6th in the City
Sixth & I’s young professional 20s and 30s crowd is the centerpiece of our outreach and engagement
efforts. Through creative Jewish and secular programming, 6th in the City offers a welcoming space for
young people to get to know each other and connect in a casual environment on their own terms. From
our monthly sold-out Trivia Night and innovative holiday programming to Not Your Bubbe’s Sisterhood
and the 6th in the City musical Shabbat service, this series offers a range of innovative opportunities for
young Jews to explore their Jewish identity.
Cultural Programming
Sixth & I strives to offer dialogue opportunities in a magnificent setting that brings historic relevance and
cultural significance to the events that take place here. We regularly host events with authors,
politicians, artists, comedians, academics, filmmakers, actors, entrepreneurs, activists, and other
thinkers and doers at the forefront of the cultural scene. Open to the entire community and based on
topics with wide-ranging appeal, cultural events succeed in continually bringing new visitors to Sixth & I.
Live Entertainment
The Jonas Brothers, Bryan Adams, and Kris Kristofferson walk into a synagogue… what!? Yeah, it
sounds like a joke, but in fact Sixth & I is a top-tier music, comedy, and film venue. From Grammy
winners like Adele to top comics like Lewis Black, Sixth & I is regarded as one of the most unique and
awe-inspiring places to experience live entertainment. The Sixth & I Film Club brings some of today’s
most up-and-coming filmmakers to showcase their work and answer questions from the audience.
Sixth & I Families
Open to all families, Sixth & I Families works to create innovative family education programs, giving
families opportunities for meaningful Jewish moments that foster community and encourage
engagement. With programs such as Mothers Circle (an educational support group for non-Jewish
women raising Jewish children) and Chaverim L’Shalom (a series of workshops and Shabbat dinners
designed to celebrate the diversity of Judaism), Sixth & I Families provides a unique space for sharing
experiences, promoting Jewish exploration, and giving families the tools they need to continue creating
Jewish homes. If interested in joining Mothers Circle, email Meredith Jacobs.
