At the beginning of the 20th century, Chinatown was home to three synagogues at 5th and I,
6th and I, and 8th and I streets. During the
High Holidays, I Street was filled with people going
to services and meeting with friends.

Today, only one synagogue remains – Sixth & I Historic Synagogue – but during the High
Holidays this year, Jewish life will return to the corner of 5th and I* to welcome hundreds of
  more people.

Join us for this rare revival of history and Jewish culture.

*Fifth and I streets was home to Ohev Shalom Congregation for the first half of the 20th century. The building is
now home to the Chinese Community Church.

There is a $9 administrative fee per ticket.

At Sixth & I, there is no “membership” or obligation to pay dues or fees of any kind other than the $9
administrative fee which helps cover some of our expenses. We do this because we believe that spiritual
fulfillment should not come at a mandated price. Expenses to run the New Year services far exceed
what we collect in administrative fees. There is great merit in making a gift of your own choosing. Please
consider making a gift that feels good to you and show your support of Sixth & I.

It's a New Year. So why is it the same old you?
10Q: Reflect, React, Renew

The ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are a period of reflection, an opportunity to look at where you're at, where you've come from, and where you're heading.

Whether you're religious or not, Jewish or not, introspective or not, literate or not, our friends at Reboot invite you to take part in 10Q, an online series of questions, one a day for ten days. You fill them in and email them to a secure online vault just after Yom Kippur; next year, before Rosh Hashanah, they'll be sent back to you for reflection. We hope that in pondering your answers, 10Q will help connect you to parts of yourself that often get lost in the midst of fast-paced, twenty-first century life.
