From live music and comedy shows to author readings, political debates, and classes, a dedicated team of people is essential to the success of an event. In conjunction with Sixth & I staff members, Sixth & I Ambassadors volunteer their time to help carry out essential event operations. Ambassadors are more than just event volunteers – they are representatives of Sixth & I to every member of the community who visits our historic building.

About the Ambassador Program
The Ambassador program began in fall 2008 when the number of events grew too large for full-time staff members to handle on their own. In order to keep up with the growth of our organization, we created the Ambassador volunteer corps. Volunteers perform various duties, including: greeting attendees, taking tickets, answering patron questions, and handling will call and sales.

Volunteering at Sixth & I is a great way to experience all the ‘gogue has to offer. On average, Sixth & I Ambassadors volunteer for 1-3 programs a month. After finishing their shift, Ambassadors are welcome to stay and enjoy the program.

Application Process
If you are welcoming, energetic, and committed to customer service, please apply to become an Ambassador. Fill out the Ambassador application and send it back to Lisa Yochelson via email or fax (202.408.5124). Once your application is received, she will be in touch regarding the next steps to become an Ambassador.
