The
front-man
for acclaimed indie-rock bands
Death Cab For Cutie
and
The Postal Service
steps out on his own to perform old favorites and new material from his first solo album,
Former Lives
. Gibbard's performance will strip away all adornment and highlight the indie rocker in his bare bones brilliance.
In 1997, Death Cab for Cutie began as a solo project in Washington state, but soon after Gibbard expanded it into a complete band. Seven albums and multiple GRAMMY award nominations later, the indie super-group has grown into an international sensation with Gibbard as the main songwriter and creative force. Looking for another creative outlet, Gibbard teamed up with producer Jimmy Tamborello in 2003 to form The Postal Service, an indie-electro duo initially created by sending digital audio tapes to one another through the mail via the US Postal Service.
