Jennifer Moses' paintings from the Pages of the Torah series mix humor with holy writ, bold brushwork with balance, and Southern Gospel exuberance with Mishradic exegesis. Moses, who lived in Louisiana for many years, draws upon her experience there not only in her paintings, but also in Visiting Hours, a novel-in-stories set in Baton Rouge, which explores the nature of faith and forgiveness in the face of poverty and illness.
