image 9-part series on Thursdays, July 5-Aug 30

Demystify the Hebrew alphabet as you learn its letters and vowels and how to combine them to “crack the code.” Learn to read and understand the key words and phrases used in Jewish liturgy. Intended for those who have little to no prior knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet, this course incorporates participatory activities and a small class size to assure individualized attention.

For the benefit of all participants, attendance is expected at all nine classes. An hour per week of home practice is highly recommended.

Keren Yairi is a certified language instructor who teaches Hebrew and English as a Second Language and tutors reading/ language arts in the DC public schools. She is also an international development consultant for literacy projects in Africa.
